»Application
The Chimaster MF system is a universal multi fuel and multi functional chimney suitable for internal and external application and can be used with the following appliances:
»Solid fuel appliances
»Wood burning stoves
»Atmospheric gas appliances
»Natural draft oil fired gas appliances
»Condensing boilers
The MF system is suitable for use at continous operating temperatures of 550°C and up to 1000°C for short term firing. The unique design of the MF means that it is also multi functional. It can be used for high temperature applications, but also because of the integral silicone sealing ring the system can be applied to condensing and positive pressure installations.
»Assembly
All joints of the system are made by pushing the female socket of the outer casing of one section over the male spigot of the outer casing of the next section The inner liner of the spigot contains the silicone sealing ring and all components are designed for this end to facing upwards when installing. The inner and outer casing have enough lead-in-edge to ensure easy and simple jointing of one length or component to another. A locking band can then be fitted to complete the joint.
»Authority
The Chimaster MF Chimney System is manufactured under the strict control of ISO 9001 and performs to the requirements of BS.4543 parts 2 and 3 as stated in BISRIA Report No’s 141 46/3, 141 46/4 and 14146/7. In addition the product is also approved by the following European Standards;
LNE (France) to NFD 35.303 1304. IDBT/TUV (Germany) to DIN 18.160 and TNO Building (Holland) to NEN 6062:1991.The Chimaster MF Chimney System has been tested to and meets the requirements of the proposed new European Standards prEN 1443 and prEN 13216-1.
Tested to European Standard EN 1856 – 1
»Supports
The MFMO/MFZE wall support is the main load bearing suppport component as well as giving lateral support to the chimney, whilst the MFMB wall bracket offers lateral support only to the installation. The MFAPU support plate with drain and the MFAPO support plate, also provide load bearing options. They can either be used with a suitable support structure or with wall support brackets. Both Wall Support and Wall Band are adjustable to give a clearance from the wall of between 50 and 100mm. MFDQ Roof Joist Support allows a chimney to be laterally supported on roof joists or rafters and is provided with adjustable plates. Where non load bearing support is required at floor or ceiling level the MFVQ intermediate floor support should be used. This component is complete with a clamping strap.
»Chimaster MF Lengths and Associated Components
Lengths: MF 100, ME 50 and MF 25, are the standard range of lengths. The installed length dimensions are —1000mm, 500mm, and 250mm. An adjustable length MFPP is also available. This provides an adjustment of between 50 and 300 mm. This component can be used with standard lengths when a precise or specific chimney run is required.
»Associated Components
Dimensional details of the available range of standard elbows and tees are shown on other pages of this document. These components are provided for use when it is not possible to construct a vertical chimney. The Building Regulations require that when solid fuel, wood or oil burning appliances are used, no part of the chimney should form an angle of more than 30 degrees except when it is
»Clearance from Combustibles
Under normal operating conditions the outer casing temperature permits installation with a clearance of a minimum 50mm to combustible materials. Where a chimney passes through a ceiling or floor, fire stop spacers and/or ceiling supports must be used.

»Probe Length and Condensate Drain: MFEM (Chimaster Code List)
To remove condensate from the horizontal chimney a special length the MFEM, with a low resistance to flue gas movement is available. This component can also be used as a probe opening to measure flue gas content.
»Locking Bands: MFKB (Chimaster Code)
Locking bands must be ordered separately. They must be used when the chimney runs horizontally or when the unsupported height above the roof is more than one metre. They must also be used to secure terminals and are supplied as standard with all Terminals.
»Guy Wire Band: MFBT (Chimaster Code List)
Provides extra support for chimneys when the last fixing above the roof is more then one metre below the chimney terminal. Wires or rigid stays are fixed to the band and care must be taken to secure the wires to a strong point of the building.
»Wall Bands: MFMB (Chimaster Code List)
Wall bands should be used every 2 meters and directly before and after elbows.
»Wall Support: MFMO (Chimaster Code List)
Fixed to the wall it will give firm load bearing support. It may be used at the base of the installation or at any point throughout its height.
»Adaptor: MFA, MFA 00, MFAC and MFSA (Chimaster Code List)
Adaptors and connectors provide connection to the various flue outlets.
MFA is the standard connector, MFAOO is the adaptor made to order. Both fit into the flue collar of the appliance. MFSA provides connection between a brick chimney and the MF system.
MFAC contra adaptor provides connection between the MF system and single wall flue or components.
